This monoprint is from my recent exhibition “Learning to Trust Myself” at Oloman Cafe & Gallery. The exhibit featured 52 mono prints created through a process of pressing 20 linoleum block carvings in various arrangements and colors. Abstract marks were produced by finger painting on an uncarved linoleum block and transferring it onto the page. While each print is distinct, they are extensions of each other. This collection explores themes of abstraction, embodiment, and sentiment. It is a celebration of location, my body, and how I have found a home here, amongst the trees and dune grass
As a screen printer, I typically strive for precision and clean lines. This series of mono prints diverges from that pursuit. Instead, it celebrates the beauty of imperfection and the abundance of creative play. The process was loose and joyous. I hope these pieces makes you smile.
